August '24 Newsletter

It's hard to believe that another summer season is coming to an end! Between hot sunny days and starry summer nights, we hope you have made memories to last a lifetime.

We also know that this is an exciting season for families as they prepare to send children back to school. For some, you're experiencing the rollercoaster of college drop-off (does it ever get easier?). Other families are getting ready for new teachers, perhaps new schools, and a very different daily routine than the last few months (why can't we start school at 9 am again?).

Regardless of which camp you fall into, we hope the new school year brings great joy, wonderful friendships and endless memories. And for those of you who may be at a different stage of life, we hope this new season brings you great adventures with family and friends.

Bearcub Outfitters is also ready for fall as we are stocked full of fleeces, outerwear and yes, even slippers, for the whole family. We'd be happy to help with your back-to-school shopping, whether you are 9 months or 99 years old. After all, everyone can use a new school outfit, right? And even if you just want to stop in for a Tootsie Roll and a friendly chat, we offer those, too. We hope to see you soon!

HELP US SUPPORT MANNA
At Bearcub Outfitters, we strongly believe in giving back to the community that has been so supportive of us. This Saturday, August 31st, we will be donating 10% of our proceeds to the Manna Food Project's Mobile Food Pantry program.
With this effort, Manna delivers food to various communities throughout Emmet County where people may not have access to a local pantry. The program has grown significantly over the last year, and we are honored to be able to help provide this important service. Come in and shop this Saturday (it's also a Fifth Saturday-iykyk) and support an important cause in our community.
BEARCUB GIVES BACK
You may remember that we pledged to donate a portion of our sales from our birthday celebration to the Petoskey Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation. We are so pleased to announce we recently made a donation of $1,000 to the B.J. Shawn and Becky Kranig Fund, which was created within the Foundation to celebrate the arts and environment in Emmet County. Thank you for shopping with Bearcub Outfitters! Together, we are making a difference in our community!
CLEAN WATERS CHALLENGE-2.0!
Mother Nature may have foiled our plans in June, but we are back and ready to go with the Clean Waters Challenge in September! We are so excited to partner this year with the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council in support of the Clean Waters Challenge: Healing the Bear. Please click here to learn more about the Clean Waters Challenge on September 7th and how you can help!

Each year, we work together to clean up the fresh water sources in northern Michigan. This year, the specific focus of the event will be on the Bear River in Petoskey, which is a tributary of Little Traverse Bay. Trash and recyclables will be removed from the riverbank to maintain the health and integrity of this fresh water source. There will be food, lots of fun and a chance to win great prizes for those who volunteer.
To keep with the theme of eliminating waste, any volunteer who buys a water bottle from Bearcub Outfitters by September 7th will receive 25% off their new water bottle! You must show proof of registration for the Clean Waters Challenge to receive the discount.
