CELEBRATING 25 YEARS AT BEARCUB OUTFITTERS!

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." B.J. Shawn and Becky Philipp-Kranig believed in their dream of getting families outdoors to enjoy this beautiful world. They renovated a former retail space in downtown Petoskey to create an outdoor apparel and gear store, and Bearcub Kid-Fitters opened its doors on May 18, 1998.

Now known as Bearcub Outfitters, the store has doubled in size and is more committed than ever to providing earth-friendly products that get families moving in the right apparel and with the best gear. Our commitment to the local community is also steadfast and we know it is with your support that we are able to celebrate this milestone.

To celebrate, all bags are 25% off in-store and on-line (use the code HappyBirthday in your cart) Thursday through Sunday. We will also have cupcakes and goodie bags in the store while they last! Thank you for 25 great years, and here is to 25 more!

We know celebrations usually involve presents and we have the perfect gift you can give in honor of Bearcub! The B.J. Shawn and Becky Kranig Fund at the Petoskey Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation was created to celebrate the arts and environment in Emmet County. Please consider making a gift to this fund in honor of our 25th birthday so we may continue to enrich our local community.

Bearcub Supports Our Veterans

Our Bearcub family admires and respects the sacrifices our veterans and active military personnel have made for our country. As a way to say thank you, we offer a discount on every purchase (excluding sale items) to all military veterans and those serving in active duty.

Bearcub is also proud to carry products supporting veterans, including a line of educational children's blankets created by Birdie Boutique, a proud certified disabled-veteran and woman-owned small Michigan textile manufacturer.

We also carry the Wanderfreund High Five walking pole by Leki. Importantly, 5% of the proceeds from the sale of this classic walking cane are donated to the High Fives Foundation, which assists military veterans with life altering injuries.
