"No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face." - John Donne

Autumn brings cooler weather, apple cider and pumpkin spice lattes. It also signifies the beginning of the harvest season, the return to school and cheering on your favorite fall sports team (regardless of weather!). We also hope you take time to slow down and enjoy a walk through the woods or a hayride with friends and family. Whatever the autumnal equinox holds for you, Bearcub Outfitters is stocked with fleeces, flannels, vests and jackets to keep you warm and cozy through every adventure. We hope you enjoy this beautiful season!

SCOUTING REPORT

Many of you know that our staff cares deeply about the community in which we live. We are involved in a number of different organizations outside of the store and it is time to shine the spotlight on our fearless leader, Becky Philipp-Kranig. As a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Becky enjoyed a career in large retail business before joining her mom, BJ Shawn, as a partner in Bearcub Outfitters in 1998. Here, they were able to create a store that encouraged families to get outside together, while also supporting the community in which they lived. Becky has served on the board of the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society (from whom she adopted her two current furry family members), and the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce. She is also an active supporter of the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, Camp Daggett, Little Traverse Conservancy, Public Schools of Petoskey and the Petoskey Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking and spending time with her amazing husband and children. Thank you, Becky, for all you do to support our community!

BOGS BOOT BASH!

As an added bonus, Saturday, July 30 is the Fifth Saturday of the month! Members of our Cub Club will receive 20% regularly priced items in the store, and an ADDITIONAL 20% off sale items. Items must fit in the Fifth Saturday bag and some exclusions will apply. Not sure if you are a member of the Cub Club? Call our store or send an email to sales@bearcuboutfitters.com to check your status. We will be ready...will you?

OUR FAVORITE PLACES

We are often asked for advice about the best local outdoor places in the area so we are letting you in on our faves! If you are looking for some last minute camping, Camp Petosega, located on the shores of Pickerel Lake, still has limited reservations available! The Tanton Family Preserve is definitely calling your name for a good mountain bike ride. Head over to the Thorne Swift Nature Preserve for a great family hike, suitable for all ages. A more vigorous trek can be found at the Offield Family Viewlands (where you'll also catch an amazing sunset). Head north to Sturgeon Bay Dunes for the most peaceful day at the beach, ever. All of these places, and many more, are managed by the Little Traverse Conservancy. Tag us @bearcuboutfitters on Instagram and Facebook in any of your outdoor adventures!
