June '24 Newsletter

It doesn't matter how old you are, most of us still get excited about "summer vacation." For some, it's a return to a family home or cottage to spend precious time with loved ones on the lake. Kids finally get a reprieve from school and may spend endless hours riding bikes, exploring the trails and hitting the beach. Yet others may only have a few days to savor the beauty of Northern Michigan and hope to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Whatever you do for summer vacation this year, we hope you will spend some time with us at Bearcub Outfitters! We would love to introduce you to our new staff, share our great products with you and be part of your vacation experience!
 
 
Clean Waters Challenge is Here!
We are so excited to partner this year with the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council in support of the Clean Waters Challenge: Healing the Bear. Please click on this link to learn more about the Clean Waters Challenge on June 22 and how you can help!
Each year, we work together to clean up the fresh water sources in northern Michigan. This year, the specific focus of the event will be on the Bear River in Petoskey, which is a tributary of Little Traverse Bay. Trash and recyclables will be removed from the riverbank to maintain the health and integrity of this fresh water source.
Stop by the store on Thursday, June 20 from 1-3 pm and get signed up to volunteer. Those who sign up early will receive a thank you gift from Bearcub Outfitters!
 
 
Cub Club News
Have you heard the news? We are getting new bags for our Cub Club members to use when they shop our Fifth Saturday sale! Existing members of our Cub Club will receive the bag when they come in to shop our next Fifth Saturday, which is June 29th. Remember, everything you can fit in the bag will be 20% off (some exclusions apply), but it's for that day ONLY. There is no charge for the bag (it's a perk of being a member of the Cub Club!), however, there will be a $5 fee to replace it.
You must be a member of the Cub Club to get the bag and shop our sale on June 29th. Not yet a member (or not sure if you are)? Call our store at 231-439-9500 to check your status and sign up if necessary. Happy shopping!
P.S. Please also say hi to our new crew member, Lucy! She loves camping in the summer and skiing in the winter. One of her favorite activities is playing soccer! Lucy also loves playing with her dog, Stanley, and her cat, Stormy.
 
Meet Our New Crew Members
Brandon is a new member of our crew! He says when he is not holed up inside reading a good book, he enjoys a medley of outdoor activities. Brandon loves to disc golf with his dog, Roran, as well as camp, hike and snowboard. He also has almost 10 years of experience in adventure recreation!
Chloe is a photographer who adores art and music. When she's not at work, she's climbing, cooking, reading, or spending time with animals (mostly chickens). Chloe also loves to travel all over the world!
Say hi to Andy! This is how he describes himself: "I’ve got a surfer’s soul and a Jimmy Buffett song in my heart. My faith, family, and friends are very important to me and then there are chocolate donuts, air to breathe, a Mountain Dew in the morning, sunset beaches, walks in the woods, cardinals, and my fellow Bearcubbers, not necessarily in that order."

Beach weather is here! We have everything you need to make a day at the beach successful. From boys' and girls' bathing suits to Patagonia baggies for the whole family, stop in to get ready to hit the waves. We also have these great changing ponchos that can double as a swim cover up and towel.
