January '25 Newsletter

Walking through a winter wonderland is starting to take on a whole new meaning in northern Michigan, and just in time! We make it easy to get outside and play in the snow with our upcoming snowshoe events at Camp Daggett and Maple Moon Sugar Bush and Winery, both of which are open to the public. There are also several reasons to come downtown and shop during the month of February. Check out our website for all of our upcoming activities, and maybe you'll feel like you are walking on clouds, too! (photo credit: Renee Tanner)

It's that time of year again! Believe it or not, we are hosting our 25th season of torchlit snowshoe hikes through Camp Daggett this year! The first one is scheduled for this Saturday, January 25 from 5-8 pm. Bearcub Outfitters will provide the snowshoes, and Camp Daggett will be serving the hot cocoa and warm cookies. You are welcome to come and go throughout the evening, and tickets for the raffle prizes will be available until we hold the drawing 8 pm. There is no need to be present to win. Donations are strongly encouraged, and all proceeds from the event will fund student scholarships to attend Camp Daggett.
Join us on Saturday, February 1st for the first ever Petoskey Banana Bread Festival. Grandpa Shorter's will be judging banana bread entries that afternoon, so dust off your secret family recipe! Make sure you swing down to Bearcub Outfitters that day, too. Guess how many Banana Runts are in our candy jar for a chance to win a $25 gift card to Bearcub Outfitters! Click here for more information about that fun-filled day.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for...chocolate! Join us for the annual Chocolate Crawl in downtown Petoskey on Saturday, February 8th. From 12:30-3:00 pm, local businesses will be giving away various samples of chocolate or chocolate themed goodies. Bearcub Outfitters will also have chocolate treats to satisfy your sweet tooth! Grandpa Shorter's will be creating a passport of participating businesses, and those who complete their passports will be entered to win one of several $25 gift cards. For more information about all of the exciting activities planned in the weeks ahead, check out our events page here.
We know the snow globe hasn't stopped shaking yet, but we need to start marking room for our spring merchandise! Visit our store and take a peek at our recent markdowns. Bearcub Outfitters is open 7 days a week and we look forward to seeing you soon!
